Monze Pet Bed Review: A Washable Dog Bed for a 3 kg Dog

First impression: a dog bed that became part of Louie’s daily resting space

The Monze Pet Bed worked well for Louie because it offered more than a soft place to lie down. It gave a small Yorkshire Terrier enough room to stretch, turn around, rest his head, and carry toys onto the bed without looking crowded.

Louie weighs about 3.04 kg and can be sensitive about where he rests. Before choosing a dog bed, I looked for four things: enough space for his body, a material that would feel comfortable for regular use, simple washing, and a design that would not look out of place in the home.

After comparing several options, the Monze Pet Bed was the one I chose. It has become a bed, a cushion, and sometimes even a small step for Louie near our low platform bed.

Size and comfort for a small dog

The size felt more generous than expected for Louie. He can lie down fully, change sleeping positions, sit with a toy, or rest against the back cushion without needing to stay in one fixed position.

The raised cushion at the back was especially useful. Louie often rests his head against it when he is relaxing. That is a small detail, but it made the bed feel more like a defined resting spot than a flat mat.

Because our bed is low to the floor, there was limited space for a separate pet stair. Louie started using the Monze Pet Bed not only as a resting place but also as a step before climbing onto the bed. That was not the original reason for buying it, but it became a practical part of our routine.

Design and home use

The overall design is simple and understated. The beige tone blends easily with indoor furniture and does not look overly pet-focused in the room. For guardians who care about how pet furniture fits into the home, this was one of the appealing parts of the product.

Louie seemed interested in it from the first day. He climbed onto it quickly, and since then he has used it for naps, quiet play, and resting with chew toys. A dog choosing to return to the same bed regularly is more useful than a bed that only looks good in photos.

Washing and cover changes

The removable outer cover made routine washing easier. I purchased an additional cover, which made it possible to swap covers without leaving Louie’s resting place empty while the washed one dried.

I usually change and wash the cover once a week. The cushion section and bed section are washed about once a month. After washing, the cushion continued to feel soft, and the bed was easy to manage because the fabric dried relatively quickly.

This routine may not suit every household in the same way. Dogs that shed heavily, track in dirt, or have skin or toileting issues may need more frequent cleaning. Still, the removable cover structure made regular maintenance feel realistic rather than burdensome.

What I liked and what took extra effort

The following points mattered most in actual use, especially for a small dog who spends long periods resting indoors.

What worked well What to know before buying
Spacious enough for Louie to stretch, turn, and rest with toys The inner bed section does not have a separately available extra cover
Raised back cushion gives a place to lean or rest the head Changing the cover can take effort because fitting both cushion ends into place is not especially easy
Outer cover can be removed and washed regularly Buying an extra outer cover is useful when you wash frequently
Simple beige design works well with indoor furniture Measure the intended space first, especially if you plan to use it beside a bed or sofa

The limitations were manageable for us, but they are worth knowing before purchase. The cover change is not difficult enough to stop regular washing, but it is not something I would describe as effortless either.

Who may like this bed

The Monze Pet Bed may suit small dogs that like to stretch out, lean against a cushion, or spend a lot of time resting in one familiar place. It may also suit guardians who want a washable bed with a calm, furniture-friendly appearance.

It may be less convenient for someone who wants multiple replacement covers for every inner section, or who prefers a bed with an extremely simple cover-changing process. Dogs with special mobility needs, pain, or difficulty getting onto and off furniture may need a setup chosen with veterinary advice rather than relying on a bed alone.

Final verdict

For Louie, the Monze Pet Bed has been a useful long-term resting space because it is roomy, soft, easy to keep clean, and versatile enough to use beside our bed. The extra cover was a worthwhile addition, and the raised cushion made the bed feel more comfortable for quiet rest.

It is not perfect in every detail, especially when changing the cover around the cushion ends. But for a small Yorkshire Terrier who naps often and likes a dedicated place for toys and rest, it has been a satisfying choice.
