Louie gets super excited every day at 2 p.m.—it’s when my alarm rings to go pick up his sister, Tori, from school. At our condo, dogs must be inside a stroller or carrier to ride the elevator. For walks, we usually take the stroller, but for quick errands like school pickup, a dog carrier bag is much more convenient.
Louie had an older carrier, but I wanted him to be more comfortable. That’s why we chose the RittoGatto Front Carrier, and here’s our full review.
1. Pros of the RittoGatto Front Dog Carrier
✔ Comfortable for the owner
The straps and waist belt are thick and stable, so it doesn’t strain your body even when worn for long.
✔ Comfortable for the dog
Since Louie stays close to my chest and can see my face, he seems much calmer than in traditional carriers.
✔ Great ventilation
The mesh top can be opened or closed, allowing airflow and visibility depending on the situation.
✔ Clear field of view
Louie doesn’t feel confined, and he enjoys being able to peek out and observe.
2. Cons of the RittoGatto Front Dog Carrier
💸 Higher price range
It’s more expensive than standard carriers, though the quality reflects the cost.
🐶 Better suited for smaller dogs
Louie is 3.04kg. If your dog is closer to 5kg, it could strain your back. A separate cushion insert is also necessary—without it, Louie’s neck would press against the opening.
↔ Hard to face forward consistently
Not exactly a downside, but it helps to rotate your dog’s direction during long use.
3. Caution When Using the Carrier
Active dogs like Louie should always be clipped to the inner safety hook. Louie isn’t afraid of heights, so he’s stood up dangerously tall inside the bag. It’s important to secure them.

Louie Using the RittoGatto
We added a cushion to raise Louie’s position—this helps support his neck and keeps him comfortable.
He’s so used to the carrier now that when I pick it up before school, he jumps up onto the bed to be packed in.
Final Thoughts
This dog carrier bag has made our outings smoother and more enjoyable. Being hands-free while keeping Louie close is a major win. If you have a small dog and want a secure, stylish, and practical front carrier, I highly recommend the RittoGatto.
